Getting Ready for a Long Hike

This is the middle of our living room.

20120725-070840.jpgLots of reading, back and forth going on. Daily practice with using Garmin eTrex30 GPS. Does anyone else think Garmin’s documentation/ directions for using their product is woefully lacking? Anyone know of decent tutorials? Finding the steps to lay down a track isn’t even listed in the product manual!

Ha ha – I got a Garmin as a gift a few years back. One look at the instructions and I “regifted” it right away…

It is really shocking how little they tell you about a device that can do so much. I spend hours trying to figure out basic things that are not addressed in any of their support materials.
