White bike across a Dark Path

The excitement today was to get in two rides on my new bicycle. I am the proud owner of a white 29″ Surly Pugsley, a bike like you’ve probably never seen.

  1. In looking at this bike I have to wonder, how much does it weigh? I can’t find specs online on how much it weighs with those giant tires. Perhaps it does not matter. I am not one of those weigh everything kind of guys. But I will admit on the Trail I spent much of every day wondering how I could get my pack lighter. But for good reason. My current bike, 20″, weighs 28lbs.

    • It weighs 35 pounds, but climbs better than lightweight bikes due to the massive contact point with the low pressure 4″ tires. It is a tractor, that takes the low path, you just keep pedaling.
